Summary | 0010228: Dwarves in Squads Constantly Swapping Equipment |
Description | After every task performed my dwarves (and a dingo man, two humans, and an elf) seem to drop their equipment, bring it back to the pile, and grab new equipment. Everything but the shield, it seems. They do this over and over, seemingly between each task. |
Steps To Reproduce | Create squad of dwarves with other jobs still enabled
Assign uniform to squad
Delete all activities from schedule
Set squad to active
Wait |
Additional Information | This was using DF LNP 43.05-r2 in a fort and world newly generated in the same version.

Aren't they just upgrading their gear? Do you have weapons and armor queued up at a workshop somewhere? When the guy with the best stuff dumps it for newly made better equipment, everyone else will follow. |

You have mining/hunting/woodcutting labors enabled, which makes their work 'uniforms' conflict with their military uniforms (0001451). Disable those labors and your dwarves will quit dropping equipment every time they go on and off duty. |
|
|
|
But that sounds as if it would apply to their armor, which they also keep swapping.
Observe the Dingo Man in the fortress - only one set of armor exists that he can wear, and not more are being created, yet he drops and re-equips it repeatedly. |

It's a uniform conflict; it affects all of their uniform-assigned equipment (including armor, uniform-assigned clothing, and other equipment like quivers and backpacks).
Your dingo man does not have any of the problematic labors enabled in the save you posted; I watched him perform multiple training and hauling tasks without once performing "Pickup equipment". Perhaps you enabled his mining, woodcutting, or hunting labor after you uploaded your save? |

Hey Loci, I guess I must have. Sorry! That must have been it. My apologies. |
