Summary | 0010259: Companions Attack Traveling Civilization Members
Description | Whether I'm playing as a vanilla dwarf, or a masterwork naga, whenever I encounter a traveling squad of troops from my own civilization, it says it's an ambush, and my companions start attacking them. I cannot make my companions stop fighting except by fast-traveling. Once the first blow has been struck, fast-traveling will not teleport my companions out of a fight. In masterwork, the squad will teleport to me when I fast-travel. The traveling squad from my own civ will generally say "huh? what?" and start charging towards my companions as soon as my companions get line of sight of the squad. This happens with traveling dwarf militias from my own civ (43.05), with neutral human armies from another civ (43.05), and with civilized traveling nagas from my own civ, who will teleport to you when you fast-travel (masterwork). I am categorizing this under major severity as it completely kills my immersion/role-playing experience.
Steps To Reproduce | 1) Do not ever attack anyone from your own race. 2) Do not ever steal anything. 2) Recruit a companion from your own civilization. 3) Never create a camp (or create a camp - it does not matter). 4) Find a traveling military squad from your own civilization. (You will know it's an allied squad from your fort when the message "AMBUSH" appears. Still says 'AMBUSH' when generating a brand new world and searching for traveling squads in your hometown in Year 2 of world gen.) 5) Order everyone to cease this pointless fighting or try to fast-travel away. 6) Watch as the bloodbath commences.
Additional Information | As an added bonus, this causes a loyalty-cascade amongst the survivors. If your companions survive, they will attack each other. If your childhood friends from the fort/hometown take damage from your companion then everyone in their squad will attack you. For some reason, this bug was not reproduced with elves in their own town, merchants anywhere, or dwarves who are from a mountainhome.
