Summary0001357: Arsenal dwarf spams "cancels Upgrade Squad Equipment: Need office" if there's no path to office.
DescriptionIf the arsenal dwarf has to do their job but can't get to their office, such as by forbidding the door to it, they'll spam "cancels Upgrade Squad Equipment: Need office" about every second as they keep reattempting it.
Steps To Reproduce1. Assign an arsenal dwarf and give that dwarf an office.

2. Make some change that would cause them to perform their job (ex. add/remove a squad member)

3. Make it impossible for them to get to their office (ex. forbid the door to it)

4. Get spammed.
Additional InformationIf the arsenal dwarf has access to their office when they start their job, but it's removed before they can finish or even get there, they make a single job cancellation announcement and never attempt again until they get an office assigned.

If the arsenal dwarf has no office to begin with they won't even start the job.

I felt the constant message spam may have at least been unintended, but yeah I can see how it might not be considered a bug. I figured it'd be safest to report it in case it was a bug, but I'm sorry if it's not.

You were correct. Message spam is pretty much always a bug, not only because of its spam-ness but also because it tends to reflect underlying problems in jobs and pathfinding.

It is probable that the pathfinding part is covered by other bug reports, so this could be a candidate for closure if it is only related to the arsenal dwarf.

The arsenal dwarf portion is deprecated. The spam is covered by 0000470. Pathing is covered in other reports.
