0001597: Repeatable crash, unknown cause
I have a save game that crashes at the same frame each time without fail, for no reason that I can discern.
1) Load the save
2) Step forward seven frames, or just unpause
3) Crash!
Will upload the save shortly.

Was 12 frames for me. Doesn't appear to be any... reason for the crash. Not job related, not military related, no glaring error log, no memory limitations reached, not noble related.

Might be something buggy spawning after that time.

My only guess is that it has something to do with the impending arrival of the human caravan. The save is from late summer of the second year of the fort, just when I'd expect them to arrive for the first time. However, this is nothing more than speculation since they don't actually appear before the crash happens.

I have something quite similar there : http://bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=2047 [^]
Try testing the save on windows XP and check if the caravan finally appears.
EDIT : I've checked on Windows XP and it crashes too, unlike my problem.

I've got something that sounds just like this, 19 frames to a repeatable crash, produces nothing in the error log (immediately preceded by "Receive job pay: NULL JOB" but this isn't repeated when I reload), 10th of Malachite (mid-summer) in year two. Nothing I do during the time between loading and crashing seems to make a difference. I'm on very limited bandwidth at the moment so I don't want to upload a save, but will be able to within two weeks, particularly if anyone expresses interest here.

I say load it up. Its always good to have cross frame of reference.

I have the same issue here and I'm pretty sure that the cause is the arrival of the human caravan. The game will reproduceably crash on galena 12th, wich is the date I expect the human caravan to arrive for the first time. Since this is the first world I experience this bug, it might be related to something in the worldgen process.

FunkyWaltDogg, whatever mod you are using or have done yourself is causing this - there are duplicate language files there (that appear to remove diacritics) but would support a crash at the caravan as it tries to generate human names. I get a crash when trying to access the [c]iv screen.

Ditto for Eskarion - you have duplicate language files (bak) in the same folder.

These make this report a dupe of 0001428.
