Mark as duplicate then. No crash when I cancelled the melting of some copper chain leggings/shield.

Since you've got a save uploaded now, it's probably not prudent to resolve as a duplicate at this point. I'll update the info to reflect the melting crash though.

This should be fixed for 0.31.05. I wouldn't melt anything until it's out, but melting one object at a time should theoretically be safe.
