Description | As states the title. Would be nice if they went back to their normal color. |
Steps To Reproduce | Build a floodgate
Build a lever
Link lever to floodgate
Pull lever to open the gate
Pull lever again to close the gate; gate color invariably becomes brown. |

Check the floodgates to see whether its being covered by something.
Are you using it in water? Then its getting covered by mud.
Also, whats the material and the color of the floodgate and the mechanism used for it? Shouldn't affect it, but just wondering out loud.

I've never seen this before, though I admit I do little that's imaginative with fluids (I try not to tempt fate). Obviously due to a mud covering. Tried the look command and checking for contaminants? You working with underground layer fluids? Lots of mud down there. |

Yeah, there's a "small pile of mud". It would be nice if it didn't obscure the color of the gate. |

Still present in DF 0.40.23, but sounds more like a suggestion than a bug. |
