it seems that the dwarf reg atirmeng, after killing some couple of guy at the entrance, is now in berserk mode without being signaled as berserk.
the save is at http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=2716 [^] |

Reg Atirmeng "Dyelash" only dwarf kill was Momuz Cuborurvad "Workerseals" the engraver by his kill list and by his axe.
However, Reg also killed a merchant's mule. Perhaps you accidentally targeted the mule with the kill order? Once he killed it, he became an enemy of his own people (Legends mode). Momuz most likely attacked him once he became an enemy.

Can't see much history in the announcements; did something make him go moody or beserk and continue service like a moody dwarf in 0000530? What happened to this guy? He just runs around hacking wildly at people.
Getting this from the save:
Load Game: Invalid Squad ID Number
Load Game: Invalid Activity ID Number

that is the problem: first the squad got a kill order outside the fortress, on the road there, they killed a couple dwarfs on their path without reason.
then that dwarf on the way back got into this strange berserk-not-berserk mode, I don't know if the bugs are related, one caused the other or if the other was the hidden cause for the former
besides, there are no announcements about him berserking, he wasn't in a mood, he wasn't listed nor berserker in his status screen nor as enemy on the unit listing screen
Evidence is strongly against a mood because I did a mood just a couple of month before this
Evidence is against having this dwarf going half berserk before the kill order because up until after the order, he was responsive to squad commands (and obliged the kill order)
Then they killed a couple of dwarves on the way there, so I disbanded the squad, then I started get combat reports and that was the point where the save is: with this dwarf gone berserk without announcements, without being attacked by war dogs and so on. You can't give a kill order on him, but if the squad stands near him will kill it on sight (more or less, he was the better axeman of the lot - it always is)
it may be also that thing about the mule you say - let me check if the mule was killed before ore first civilian casualty

I guess the real question is if this is some form of hostility to his home race trigger or will you be able to get dwarves to kill other dwarves the same way again? |

I'm marking this as a duplicate for now, as it sounds like the same thing. Without LoSboccacc's response to his investigation earlier I don't think this is really actionable. |
