Summary | 0003040: Dwarves get stuck in a "could not find path" loop for no obvious reason |
Description | Alternating amounts of dwarves spamming "job cancelled: could not find path". Only succeed at tasks occasionally. |
Steps To Reproduce | |
Additional Information | Leatherworker stood two squares away from his workshop, could not enter for nearly fifteen minutes. Then made one leather armor and begun spamming again.
Couple of dwarves are standing in place in an underground cavern not far from the stairs, spamming same error for not being able to eat. Are about to starve to death.
Also: several dwarves are standing INSIDE the food stockpile, spamming "Urist McHungry cancels eat: could not find path". They are practically standing on hundreds and hundreds of prepared meals, starving to death for no apparent reason.
Have not tried reproducing, as this is my first large and successful fortress so far. The problem started after I built a large staircase down and struck an underground cavern. At first I got messages how some dwarves could not collect webs, after which I forbid them from automatically collecting them. Then the error message expanded to new areas previously mentioned. |

I have had a similar problem with cancellation spam after I built a loom and breached a deep cavern. The first cavern was over 100 Z from my embark point.
I built the loom in the cavern and still I get job cancellation spam when the "Collect Webs" task is set.

With no valid save for this particular instance, I'm going to resolve it unable to reproduce - it is most likely going to be covered by one of the other spam/pathing reports. |
