0004454: Vegetation instant growth in soil layer 1 tile underground
Once you have mined down to the underground caverns, vegetation starts to spread upwards even to soil layers that are almost "outside" .

A few problems arises with this spread of vegatation as Farm Plots wont grow there unless vegetation is removed and sometimes even chop down or gather plants wont be able to do that in an area.

I've even had a few Young-Tower Cap instant spawn right after mining a tile making an area that was being mined down useless for that farm and that fungi could not be removed by the normal means.

Ensure you have an upper soil layer right underground , mine down to cavern , watch how the fungi spreads and infects the uppermost caverns in a really fast way.
It seems this might be intended, but in my opinion it's :

*Too fast.
*Makes it really easy to make a lot of "trees" right underground without having to explore the deep caverns.
*Pretty anoying when they instant spawn in an area that you where going to use.

Proposed fix :

Either slow down growth on upper soil layers or stop underground vegetation from the caverns to expand too far upwards from those caverns.
