Summary0004538: Dwarf Mode save loading crash
DescriptionUpon trying to load a Dwarf Mode save, the game will sometimes crash before getting to the dwarf mode itself, just at the choose the region screen. It doesn't always happen, but when it does, it constantly occurs on that save file and the region must be scrapped. Have not tried it with adventurer mode.
Steps To ReproduceAttempt to load a save file of Dwarf Mode. Does not always occur, but has high probability.

Are you using the 'compressed saves' option? You might want to try turning it off and seeing if this comes up again.

Also, could you clarify - it crashes not on the region screen, but when you select it on the region screen, right?

I have no idea what the compressed saves option is or how to enable/disable it. As far as I know, it is on the settings that came with downloading the game from the site.

As for the crash. When you go into Dwarf Fortress to load up the save file of the game, at the point where you pick which save to load, like Region 1 ,Region 2, etc., the game will crash there without going to the actual save.

The compressed saves option is in the init.txt file that comes with the game - it's basically the settings file for DF.

It sounds like the save is corrupted, which has been an issue for some people with the compressed saves option on - which is the default setting.

Changing this from a relation to a dupe of 0002017 as it seems to have been the issue and there isn't an actual save to test with this report.
