0004619: Crashing when saving/abandoning/resuming game
My game was running fine for many years, but the last time I saved it it crashed. I can still load it just fine, look around, give orders and such, but if I either try to save, abandon the fortress or unpause, the game will immediately crash.
Load up the game, then try to save, abandon or resume.

Try disabling COMPRESSED_SAVES in init.txt. It causes problems on 64-bit systems. That probably won't help your existing save, but it'll probably prevent further save corruption.

Maybe I should have mentioned that in the report, but compressed saves have been off. It's a rather large embark area though(6x6 I think?), and I've like 180+ dwarves there, DF's running at 800'ish MB ram usage as soon as I load it up. Still, the game was running along nicely, so the crash came as a surprise. The outpost liaison was currently visiting, if that makes a difference.

Save does not exhibit corruption.

Since save compatibility has been broken since this report, it's hard to tell whether this crash has since been fixed. If anyone has a save that crashes under similar conditions in the latest version, please upload it to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] and PM a manager on the forums (or reopen the report).
