0005657: Save File corruption (?) after retiring handicapped adventurer
This save file is seemingly corrupted - Legends mode works fine, but when I try to start adventure mode, the game crashes upon loading the save file, it seems (that is, selecting START PLAYING from the main menu, then selecting the save and then selecting ADVENTURER, I get some loading time, and then the game crashes without any further comment).

To make absolutely sure, I unpacked Dwarf Fortress at a new location and only copied the save into it, and again, LEGENDS mode works, but ADVENTURER crashes the game. And I originally had the impression that world gen and other features of the game also got corrupted by that crash.

I don't know whether it might be the 2GB limit, but I doubt it. The corruption occured after I retired a human adventurer because she suffered nervous injuries to a foot, I think, which made it impossible for her to stand/walk. I thought this was the third adventurer in that world (the other two dying very quickly), but legends mode only lists her, so I may be wrong on that count... She only killed two spouses of evil or something, so she has not had much impact on history, and there were definitely no more than two adventurers before her (if any!) with not more than 1 significant kill per adventurer (I am still not good at ADV mode).

No mods, no outside material except for setting the init and using a stretched version of the charset (so as to get the classic look). None of these changes apply to the virgin install I used to verify the corruption.
Select 'Start Playing'
Select this save
Select 'Adventurer'

I'm not totally certain but this is the nearest problem I can find to my own. I retire an adventurer, and then when I to start a new game and scroll to the retired adventurer, DF crashes with a 0xc0000005 fault.

I assume some form of corruption during Adventure Mode. Legends mode and Fortress mode are unaffected, and I can start a new adventurer, but retiring always gives same effect.

This has happened with 2 advanced worldgens in a row. I'd guess that the above should duplicate same.

I've only noted this with 34.07, not previous builds.

I still have this issue with 0.34.11. Playing adventure mode on a world created without advanced parameters, just put my 4th adventurer into retirement, now the game crashes whenever I scroll to the second page of the civilization list when starting a new adventure. Running on Ubuntu 14.04 with no mods except a graphics set.

If you've got a savegame that exhibits this problem in 0.34.11, please upload it - the original save attached to this bug is for 0.34.05, which may have had other problems (and may also be a different bug altogether).
