0006013: No seeds available for "outsdoor" farm plot despite the stone floor being muddy and seeds in stock
I've purchased strawberries and other such outdoor crops from merchants, brewed them, and attempted to plant them on farm plots I muddied underground that I channeled out. The subterranean plots work fine, the "outside" plant plots give me the no seeds available error.
Channel farm plot.
Irrigate farm plot to ensure stone floor is muddy.
place floor above farm plot. (maybe required, i do it for safety didn't help my issue deleting floors)

problem surfaces

the area I'm putting these in is next to a mountain biome which, despite this being flat land outside the mountainous region of my embark locale, might be the underlying cause. However, in a previous game I could do this after channeling into the top of a mountain so...I dunno.
I've got a save for this active.

Sounds like 0004549. Please reopen this report if that one does not describe your problem. Also, it would be helpful to upload a save to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] and post the link at 0004549.

I read bug 0004549 before I posted this. The key difference seems to be the work around applicable to 0004549. They are able to buy products or grind flour made with the plant in question, then they're able to plant. I buy strawberry wine, strawberries, and strawberry seeds, and even after processing the raw strawberries into wine myself the resulting seeds are unplantable.

That's why I consider this to be a different bug, though only slightly it seems. If I'm missing something, let me know since that work around isn't working.

The workaround seems to require making a product from the seeds, not from the strawberries. Can you try baking the strawberry seeds into a prepared meal or something?

I tried making meals/milling the seeds, no help. I still get the "no seeds available" issue.

Are you certain that the farm plot is not located within a Mountain biome? Because if it is, even partially, then this is a duplicate of 0004164 (which arguably isn't actually a bug).

How can I tell if it is/isn't to be sure?

Check if there are any trees or shrubs around the farm plot - if the farm plot is in a mountain biome, there'll be nothing but boulders. Alternatively, you could either reveal the map or channel through the floor to see if there's any soil beneath your farm plot.

Upon downloading and examining your fortress, I can confirm that all of your farm plots are located within the Mountain biome, and that's why none of the outdoor ones work. Build them further north (underneath the area covered with shrubs and trees) and they should work correctly.
