Summary | 0006203: Baron got possessed, diplomat raising the status of my lands left, noble position disappeared. |
Description | Baron doesn't appear in noble screen, though he is appointed. He is in a limbo of sorts... I guess it went something like:
"I'm making this place a county."
"So I get to be a count? Awesome!"
"Yes, but you'll have to resign your barony first."
"OK, I resign."
"Now to make you a count... hey, were are you going?"
"Must have... raw... green..." *claims a glass furnace*
"Sod it, I'm outta here." |
Steps To Reproduce | So, in order of events:
1) Diplomacy screen saying that I've been raised to 'county' status.
2) Urist McBaron has been possessed!
3) A diplomat has left unhappy.
4) Now the baron doesn't appear on the noble screen, but he does issue mandates. |
Additional Information | Luckily, I can guess... he wants three or less drums made. My fortress is full of drums. |

Diplomatic meetings always end when one party dies, goes insane, enters a strange mood, or gets replaced by somebody else (e.g. election of a new mayor while the old one is in a meeting), but that shouldn't be causing him to disappear from the Nobles screen - wait until he finishes his artifact and see if he starts showing up in the list again.

OK, I've played on a few years. The position has not reappeared, but my fortress has not grown past a barony either. The position is... gone. Poof. :( |

The same thing happened to me. My baroness started making some item and the liaison left. She's still listed as baroness in the unit screen (and I can still see her mandates from there), but gone from the nobles screen.
Despite that, my barony soon became a county, and then a duchy. Yet no noble was appointed as count/countess or duke/duchess, no entry appeared on the noble screen. My baroness was still listed as a baroness. Later a queen arrived, and she's listed (but still not my baroness). That might have only happened because I fulfilled all the requirements to get a monarch just before the liaison left in a huff. This was probably possible because he had been there for a whole year due to 3 long back-to-back goblin sieges, and another Dwarven caravan had just arrived so there were actually two liaisons there at once. |
