0006886: Charachter bugs and crashes when un-retiring
So, I created a female human character, and I made a new civilization with her in which I attempted to take a town, I had no idea what I was doing, so I ended up retiring her to see if she takes control or makes a new site automatically, without my help. SO I started a fortress and played with it for a couple In-game months, then I retired the fort and tried to un-retire my char, well, it seems nothing happened, and my civ got disbanded or something, because she was no longer a lady, although it did say my civ and another civ were vying for control. But when I talked to someone, it auto talked for me and my char talked and walked around without my perm, then it kept doing that until eventually the game crashed, I ended up deleting the world...
retire and un-retire a adventure, something similar should happen

The vying for control is probably normal behaviour, and was mentioned by Toady in the Devlog:
"Retired forts can be conquered (much more easily than they would be if you still controlled them)..."

The adventurer under its own cognition (talking to itself, etc), is covered in 0006758.
