Summary | 0007060: Goblins and humans from other civilisations live in dwarf fortresses and fight against each other |
Description | I started a game as an dwarven adventurer and in the fortress live goblins aside with some dwarves and humans. Checking the legends reveals, that they are from different civilisations, but some goblins are part of their goblin civilisation and additionally from a dwarven group (since the year I played), but all of them (dwarves, goblins and humans) have the same home.
However, some of the goblins attacked a human and suddenly everyone started fighting. I decided to aid the human, but now I was attacked by dwarves and goblins and the goblins start to kill each other and the dwarves.
In a next play I started in an other fortress in a room with only one Marksdwarf. I ask him to follow me and we walked into the next room, full of goblins. He started to attack the goblins, even they seem peacefull to me and other dwarves. And after I joined the fight the milita-dwarves turned hostile to me.
It seems in the new Version of Dwarf Fortress the creatures can settle wherever they want, regardless of their civilisation. This cause the Problems. And since goblins donĀ“t die of old age, they starts to overwhelm the original civilisation. |

I have also in 40.01 encountered a human in a dwarven fortress and elfs and goblins in human hamlets, though they didn't fight each other or anybody else. |

This happened to me as well back in .40.01,so it apparently hasn't been fixed. |

I have had something similar on several games in 0.40.02, including one where I was using an unarmed pacifist "human outsider" character with no allegiances or kills. I would walk into an open marketplace, and many of the humans/elves/goblins present would attack me or eachother. |

I've encountered this on 0.40.02 and 0.40.03 worlds. The dwarves, goblins and humans are at peace in the fortress I start out in, but if I walk into another site, they'll start fighting.
Here's a save from 0.40.03. I've just walked into a trade depot that's about to explode in violence. In this case, goblins & humans who are apparently fortress members will show as "No quarter". The broker in this save is especially annoying: she'll keep charging you if you let her.
