0008281: Generated Immigrants Know Starting 7
I generated a world in 40.11 in which the 1 dwarf civ was destroyed early on (leading to no dwarf entities aside from gods) and started a fortress. After the first hardcoded migrant wave I updated to 40.12. I am currently getting the second migrant wave and I've noticed 2 arriving dwarves that are passing acquaintances with at least one of the starting seven.
The save can be found here:

The description there will tell you which migrants are affected.

How did you verify that there are no living dwarf histfigs?

At which point did you observe the relationship?

If it was while they were at the map edge (and your starting seven were far away from them), then you might have something - otherwise, if it was after they entered the fortress, all bets are off because a single conversation should be enough to form a Passing Acquaintance.

@cephalo Legends Viewer (said 5 dwarfs, they turned out to be the gods) and the pop site file you can export from legends
@Quietust I first noticed while they were at the edge of the map (I mentioned this the first time I typed this up but rampant editing :-[) and the Trader is on the edge of the map in the save. The 7 are underground and have never been near the map edge because of a severe lack of trees.

I'm still playing this fort and it is becoming a hotbed for weirdness. I have an autosave of the beginning of year 2 with the fort retired to check legends. The pop site say there are 26 dwarfs, but the only dwarfs in a site are my 20 (I assume it is due to the dwarven caravan I received in year 1, no liaison though).

The weird part: I just received a third migrant wave (!) that is still ongoing and has bumped my dwarf count to 29 (!!) and with them is a stray Legendary Climber kitten (!!!). To note none of the migrants are children so far, so they were not born recently.
Should I upload these saves as well?

All cats are born with legendary climber skill.

I blame Scamps.

Big migration waves aren't a new thing.

@SteveTheRed Ahh. I hadn't noticed that. Thanks.

@smjjames True, I've had ones with 15+, but is it supposed to generate more dwarves than is said to exist in the world though? The pop site file at the end of year 1 says there are 26 dwarfs in all the world, but if you play it longer another migrant wave retcons more dwarves in (my current fort save at 32 in fort and the wave isn't finished).
I remember that one of the big changes in 34.x to 40.x was that site populations actually worked (before killing a non-hist fig just resulted in their clones spawning in their place), so I asked.
