cwilhelm, are you using the Dwarf Fortress Starter Pack and/or the TWBT (Text Will Be Text) plug-in by any chance?

I had the same thing happening and found that TWBT's "multilevel" view function was causing it. Try typing "multilevel 0" in your DFHack console to disable the multilevel view and see if it still happens.

Nomad - Yes that fixed it - I suspected it was something with the new starter pack, but tried turning off and on all kinds of stuff and couldn't find out. Should I delete this bug report?

I'll resolve this report. In the future, please don't report bugs on this tracker (particularly display-related bugs) unless you can reproduce them with TwbT disabled.
