Summary | 0010637: Raids do not satisfy related needs
Description | Raids do not satisfy related needs such as the need to practice a martial art, the need the practice a skill, or the need to learn anything, even though they now learn skills after raids.
Steps To Reproduce | 1. Embark to have a set of default undistracted dwarves 2. Send them somewhere almost inconsequential like a human hamlet with 30 people 3. Despite coming back with improved skill in Armor User, Shield User, Dodger, etc., the related needs are not met.
Additional Information | I am not sure if other needs are unable to be met through raids, as needs such as the need for excitement and the need to fight seem to be satisfied with no input from the player. On a 1x1 embark, I noticed a dwarf coming back from a raid satisfied its need to wander, but I am not sure if that's because of the raid itself.

I have some dwarves who've had a fairly exciting time fighting with the local monkey-man tribe (modded). Giant apes were fought, prisoners taken, prisoners rescued, tactical battles (no kills) took place and gorillas were stolen. All involved are currently distracted due to a lack of excitement, being unable to fight, and being unable to cause trouble. No thoughts on being taken prisoner or being rescued either. Save demonstrating this: http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=13607 [^] Additional note to add that my militia commander just beat up a kobold thief and has now met his needs for fighting and excitement. So battles with giant monkeys should count. |
