Summary | 0001462: Ice thawing triggers massive lag
Description | So far had this happen only once, might be a stroke of bad luck. Anyway, I had a fort with a large (artificial) body of water that was being filled from the nearby brook. Winter came in and froze the partially-filled lake. Many tiles were just 2/7 or even 1/7 so I expected extra water when thawing happened. However when summer came and the ice thawed, the game froze for a few seconds and then resumed with uncommonly massive lag. My FPS was down from 80 to probably 30 or even less. I don't know if all the sudden extra water might be to blame, and saving/reloading doesn't seem to make the lag go away. A detail is that the lake had ramps on its sides, which seem to have been deleted by the buggy ice. I don't know if that might be related.
Steps To Reproduce | Have a partially filled lake with ramps on the sides freeze and thaw.

Do you still have the laggy save? If so, it would be helpful to upload it to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] Are you getting any pathfinding problems? |

I've had several forts where rivers freeze in winter, there is a noticable lock when they thaw as the game calculates water. The ramps thing I actually just submitted a report about, freezing sems to detach them from one z level. In my case it was at the top. |
