Summary0003690: While traveling player is teleported into holes/dry murky pools due to ambushes
DescriptionI have come upon this bug 3 times, but never saved a screenshot of it. As I travel the map I'll come upon a scripted event (the most recent one was an elephant running away, but my group killed it[i think]) where I will be placed in a small hole in the ground (usually one z-level high but no climbing blocks at all). Sometimes some of my companions are stranded in there too and on the first instance all of them (about 6) were in the hole.
Additional InformationI reverted to my last save so it wasn't major but it is still annoying to have that happen. Sorry if this was already posted I looked up teleport but found no results for this kind of travel error.

By 'scripted events' you mean ambushes ?

Did you try to escape from it ? (pressing all directions keys with and without alt)

You should be able to fast-travel out of the hole, which is probably a dried up pond.

I've also encountered this bug. I couldn't climb out of the pit, and I wasn't able to sleep or fast-travel because my adventurer "didn't feel safe enough" after a goblin ambush. I ended up temporarily adding [FLIER] to the dwarf creature raw entry in order to escape.

I could post a save with my adventurer in the hole if that would help.

Something that came up in 0004070 and 0004217 that needs to be mentioned here : for whatever reason enemies will sometimes not engage an adventurer when they enter a murky pool, be it an AI oddity or a vision issue.

All of this family of bugs would go away if adventurers could climb out of pools, granted, but the AI problem is still going to be something that needs to be addressed in addition to that.

"All of this family of bugs would go away if adventurers could climb out of pools" - in 0.34.x pools are with ramps

Please reopen this report or PM me on the forums if this problem is still present in 0.34.02+.
