Summary | 0004854: Dwarfs given a job via designation which is then canceled still walk to designated area if they have nothing better to do.
Description | Any dwarf assigned a task using a designation (e.g. woodcutting, mining) will, if the designation is canceled, lose the job dig, or cut down trees or whatever, and change to 'no job'. Rather than heading for a meeting area, if they have no pressing business (nothing to dump or haul, not hungry tired or thirsty) they will continue walking to wherever the recently removed designation was. Once they reach it, they turn around and head right back for the meeting area. This happens even if another dwarf completes the original task.
Steps To Reproduce | Designate a space to be mined or a tree to be cut down. Wait for a dwarf to take the job, then remove the designation. Only works when the dwarf isn't hungry etc, and there are no inactive hauling or dumping jobs.

Not so much a bug as a design feature, I think. |

I figured it was probably a bug, as this doesn't seem like natural behavior on the dwarf's part. "Hey, I don't need to walk three miles to cut down that tree anymore. Oh well, I've got nothing better to do, so I'll just keep walking." I'd accept that they didn't realize the designation was removed until they got there, except they go to 'no job' as soon as you remove the designation. |

This has been sorted out for all jobs. Hopefully that won't be a problem... |
