This is a link to the most relevant thread: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=105402.60 [^] It appears as though the problem stems from the way in which egg-layers operate, as only egg-layers have been observed to demonstrate this problem. Speculation is that it relates to the distance between the eggs and mothers when the chicks are born, and creature data is constructed. Another poster has reported this happened to chickens which were traded to the fortress after embark, so it is not embark-specific. |

I had specifically addressed this, so that the training status is moved over for eggs, but it might not apply in old saves. Do we know how eggs work in saves started in 34.06? |

A poster from this thread: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=105402.msg3134361#msg3134361 [^] reports that chicks hatched from an embark starting in 0.34.06 behave properly. This issue may only apply to carry-over saves from 0.34.05. |

Okay, I'll go ahead and give legacy eggs a freebie tame status. There will be a few limbo eggs from saves that were imported to 34.06 already that'll still report this bug, but that's an ephemeral thing (new eggs are fine). |
