I recently had a vampire revealed by the announcement of his being elected mayor. I went back to a recent save and watched carefully what happened and saw that he was feeding at the exact moment he was elected mayor.

While a vampire is feeding, his or her job title temporarily has the word 'Vampire' added to it. They will even show up this way in the 'u' menu. If any announcement is made about the vampire during this time, it will display their current title and reveal their vampire status.

(This occurred in 0.40.12.)
