Summary | 0005957: Stockpile with bins taking items from no bin stockpiles.
Description | I have a finished goods stockpile set to take from a clothier's workshop with no bins allowed. Its set to only accept items from links. The clothing gets produced and moved onto the stockpile correctly, but it is promptly moved to another finished goods stockpile in another area that allows bins. This 2nd finished goods stockpile is set to take from anywhere and has no links. This bug hampers our ability to create supply chains with minecart tracks
Steps To Reproduce | Make a stockpile with no bins. Allow dwarves to haul items to it. Create another stockpile with bins allowed. Wait for a bin carrying dwarf to steal items from the first stockpile and put them in the 2nd one's bins.
Additional Information | Tested on a fresh embark with finished good stockpile and weapon stockpiles. Bring a few loose items like socks and a few bins. You can easily test with your starting seven dwarves.

Another issue with this was observed with multiple stone block stockpiles: dwarf takes bin from pile A, goes to pile B, collects blocks from there and finally drops the bin in pile B. Additionally, it seems that no-bins stockpiles won't take objects from bin stockpiles. Ever. Especially bad with the new cloth stockpiles and hospitals since one bin or chest can hold about a billion units of cloth. |

Happens with barrels/food stockpiles as well. (e: 34.11) (e2: You can't currently take from a farm, but a closer stockpile in which you'd expect the plant to be placed doesn't get a chance to take the crop; a dwarf will still pick up a pot/barrel and take it to the plant even if a stockpile right next to the farm allows the plant but takes no barrels) |
