Summary0006752: Hang when generating world with long history
DescriptionRunning DF on Linux, trying to generate a complex world, the worldgen seems to hang after a while. On one worldgen, it stopped on year 432, on another it stopped on year 700. It seemed to occur when working on an Elven forest retreat. Still on the same year after half an hour. Pressed escape/enter, no response.
Steps To ReproduceOn Dwarf Fortress 0.40.01 for Linux, unmodded, create a new world. World size: Large, History: Very Long, Number of civilizations: Very High, Maximum number of sites: Very High, Number of Beasts: Very High, Natural Savagery: Very High, Mineral Occurrence: Frequent. No advanced parameters.

To make reproduction quicker, this bug can be observed in worlds down to Smaller size with the following changes to advanced worldgen parameters:

End Year: 2500 (or greater)
Percentage Beasts Dead for Stoppage: Ignore

It doesn't matter whether "Playable Civilization Required" is set or not.

I am only sure of having observed this hanging behavior in the "Age of Death", which usually follows a "Second Golden Age". It is usually in the first year of the "Age of Death", but can sometimes be a few years into it (19 in one case). Only about half of worlds reach this age before about 2500; most of the rest, and all Pocket worlds I've tried, continue in an "Age of Goblins" and don't hang.
