Summary | 0008906: Fliers cause large FPS drop (previously seen in 0004838) |
Description | I had been noting that sometimes my FPS dramatically drops - being nearly cut in half. I wondered what was causing it... and I finally found the correlation. It occurs when a flock of fliers appears on the map - on my map a bunch of Keas this most recent time. My FPS on my current fort tends at this point to be around 25 to 30, 35 in good times. But when a bunch of fliers show up, it halves or worse. I was waiting out 11 (10-12) FPS for a while. The fliers eventually left and the FPS shot right up. It's done this twice now.
This was previously seen in 0004838, but is marked as 'resolved because couldn't reproduce'. I've reproduced it twice on purpose (well, on purpose as in checking if fliers are around. The only time FPS drops is when they are, and there's a very high correlation, and quick recovery once they leave.) |
Steps To Reproduce | Wait for fliers on map. Watch FPS carefully. May be most noticeable if it's already low. A flock of Kea, 0000019:0000010 individuals (one got captured by cage, so 9 still flying, out over water where I can't kill them) drops the FPS by more than half at this point. |
