0010111: Dark fortresses block travel and resting even if playing a dark-fort native goblin
Dark fortresses blocking fast-travel is already a known annoyance but likely intended behavior. However, this restriction applies even if the adventurer is from the civilization whose fort they're trying to travel through.

Likewise, creating campfires and resting/waiting are blocked. Yet strangely, adventurers of any origin can retire in dark fortresses, making site behavior inconsistent even without modding.
1. Give the goblin entity the requisite token for being playable in adventure mode.
2. Start an adventurer from a goblin civilization.
3. Try and fail to fast-travel out, start a campfire, or rest/wait.
Goblin-native adventurers presently will not be hostile to fellow civilians or soldiers, but goblin bandits will attack anyway. This may be intended behavior, as regular goblin citizens do not seem to think highly of goblin bandits.

Or more likely, they use the same default opinions because goblin natives are normally not playable. However, normal adventurers can get goblins to discuss the matter by getting past the "talk the down, demand yield, etc" menu, again revealing signs of these inconsistencies even without modding.

Fast travel is also unavailable in player-made fortresses, and the newest version seems to have made them block resting as well (which wasn't the case iirc in 40.xx).

Also, as I posted in bug 0009596, in a completely vanilla game, no mods at all, it's possible (because, history) to start in a dark human pits or a bandit camp (or refugee camp) and, as mentioned, you're completely unable to fast-travel out.

Ah right, but unlike in the modded scenario, you're an outsider and the goblins are hostile. It would make sense that the site blocks traveling and resting.

Player forts however? That's definitely abnormal behavior.

No. Human civ, human non-outsider living in Pit belonging to humans, inhabited by humans. Wars and such make this possible in vanilla DF. But no Fast Travel. Same for vanilla bandit/refugee camp starts.

Oh? that's some good shit right there. That establishes a valid situation in which this bug can crop up in vanilla, and therefore provides a basis for pestering Toady. o3o

I'll dig out a save, people always assume mods when you mention "Dark Human Pits" (DF's description, not mine).

Here's a save:
http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=12786 [^]

Completely vanilla 43.05.
If you start as an Elf from The Livid Plays you should be able to find both a "Dark Elven Pits" and a "Dark Elven Fortress" start (scroll through starting locations on the Peasant/important screen). They only have one of each and a lot of other sites so it might take a while to scroll through to find it (I was lucky when I tested it, Dark Elven Pits came up first time).

That's good. Gives a reason to actually look into the bug.
