DescriptionI got a legendary gem cutter from my second immigrant wave.

Upon the view menu, it stated that he was the "Creator of ,", leaving the artifact name blank.
Steps To ReproduceHaven't tried. Get an artificer immigrant dwarf?

Same here, with a ranger and a stonecrafter. Except the ranger wasn't a legendary. I assume posessions can happen in worldgen artifacts, then?

Same here, with a woodcrafter. Looked into legends mode to see the name of the artifact he created, then found it on the civilizations screen. It was held by another dwarf, though in legends mode the only entry the artifact had was the one about its creation.

I have found 0008488, also with missing name of artifact in just one place while it was visible in other screens. But these two issues may be related only in the effect.

Does this issue affect only artifacts created before immigration? Does it effect all immigrating creators of artifacts?

Especially if this is caused by the state of artifact, as thvaz is suggesting, a save showing this issue may help. Please upload the zipped save folder to http://dffd.bay12games.com/ [^] and post a link to it here, thanks.

Detros, for coincidence just now a dwarf created an artifact in my fortress, and the name of its artifact shows up as it should: "Dastot Balacedgears - Creator of Danmansat"

Thanks. I am on Linux so I can't test myself as I am waiting for the new version.

If it the same game with the woodcrafter, immigrant creator of artifact, can you upload the save?

I can confirm this bug still exists in 44.05. My first migrant wave had a legendary bowyer and a legendary bone carver, both of which were creators of nameless artifacts. Also one dreams of mastering a skill, and the other dreams of creating a great work of art - both of those dreams are unrealized.

In this save, Asen Nicatstukos has just arrived, he's the creator of " ". Legends however tells us that he is the creator of "The Matched Works, a legendary gabbro bracelet".
Also, when you retire here and check Legends, it states that "In the early Spring of 244, The Matched Works was destroyed in Gloveboulder" (my fortress). So the game's destroying artifacts on arrival for some reason.

Yeah, this has happened in my game with three immigrants so far. Empty name in the (v)iew menu, but the artifacts have showed up in the (L) menu with a proper name, and I could view their descriptions.
Behind the artifact name was a note: "(destroyed/transformed)".

After a short while, they've disappeared from the (L) menu.

Should this be split into two bug reports? Maybe it makes no difference, but right now it's seems to be a major bug that's destroying artifacts (the main point of this release) disguised as a minor text error report.

Has any of you seen any such immigrant with name of artifact missing in the view menu but, when checked in Legends, the artifact was NOT noted as destroyed in your fortress at the year that immigrant arrived?
