0001061: Injured soldier dwarves interrupted from resting are never able to be treated until interrupting critters killed
Related to 0000459

First, I'm suffering from bug 0000605, too, in which my miners/pick assigned soldiers are stuck in the military, even when there are no squads or elements of the military present in my fort.

However, they are also terribly wounded. And they have a bug related to 0000566 or 0000757, in which they are repeatedly interrupted by a crossbowman, who is either caged or dead.

They get assigned to a bed, but they can never rest because of the interruption - they either go unconscious, go back on duty (while unconscious), or in the case of my expedition leader, hold a meeting (also while unconscious).

And because they can never rest, they are never assigned to a medical dwarf to treat them. Or even re-diagnose them, since my expedition leader was listed as "unable to breath" for >1 month.

Dumping the goblin that was interrupting my squadron leader into lava resulted in his timely death. It also slowly returned my soldiers back to their original jobs and allowed healthcare workers to view them again.

[Then the OTHER healthcare bugs set in!]

Still an issue in 31.03 it seems, I'm seeing a severely wounded axedwarf who is in hospital but not being diagnosed (despite others getting treatment). Every time I remove his bed he "interrupts rest" due to a Goblin lasher who's elsewhere in a cage.

When I dumped the goblin cage into some lava, bosh, dwarf immediately dies of suffocation.

(Can't provide a save as the file is too big, but I suspect this can "easily" be reproduced with some cage traps and a big goblin siege.)

I have seen other very similar military bugs involving fights with forgotten beasts where the fight state is somehow "frozen" and I think this is what's going on here.

Logical2u: do you happen to have a save for this one? I just neither 0000352 nor its child reports have any saves.

I ended up abandoning the world shortly afterwards, not thinking to keep a copy. I have a backup of the fortress, but it's a few seasons earlier than when I made this report. Specifically it was before I started a megaproject.

However, I can do my best to reproduce this. It just won't at the identical state as when I made this report, unfortunately, and it will take time.

A later backup/the save after all was said and done - doesn't appear to be restorable, something in the raws must've messed up.

I am seeing this issue (or something very similar) in 0.31.04. Repeatedly getting Urist McInjured cancels Rest: Interrupted by Goblin Hammerman. The Hammerman of course being safely caged. Also, this seems to drag my frame rate down to about 4 seconds per frame (yes, seconds per frame, not frames per second). If you give me instructions, I will be happy to upload a save.

If you give me instructions, I will be happy to upload a save.

You can upload your save (a zip file containing the relevant region folder from /data/save) to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^]

Thanks!

A lot of the interruption issues should be handled for 0.31.13, so ideally this situation will only come up now in a situation where there shouldn't be surgery etc. going on in the first place.
