0010740: Weird bug with logs stuck inside walls
https://i.imgur.com/bPUgY4B.png [^]

The logs shown are inside solid rock walls. Mining the rocks away produces both the logs and the rocks.
Built wooden floor over the cavern's water face so I could get to the adamantine pillar. I dropped a huge section of the ceiling on it from above (a massive 13x8 block 3 z levels tall) in order to fill in the water at the lake bottom. To my surprise, rather than simply deleteing the floor it passed through, it deconstructed it inside of the sky brick I dropped on it, leaving the logs blinking inside the rock face.
I don't really know what to say here but this sure is a thing.

If I understand your description correctly, you've caved in actual rock and that smashed through a floor on the way down. If that's the case, yes, that's how cave-ins work. The rock fuses with the surrounding rock when it lands, but it smashes through anything that's constructed, burying the components of the deconstructed buildings inside it (and it will also bury the body of the FB [or dorf] you dropped it on).
Note that cave-ins using constructed materials just does the smashing, but not the rock fusing. Cast obsidian works as natural rock in this scenario, and soil caved in has some issues with transmutation, but still behaves as rock otherwise.

Could you please post a save to DFFD ( http://dffd.bay12games.com/ [^] ) and add a link here?

Interesting but noted. It LOOKED like it might not be intentional, so I felt I should report it. Good to know, in either case!
