0011616: Necromancer leaders try to overthrow themselves via intelligent undead
When a necromancer tower leader raises intelligent undead, the raised undead sometimes (not always) infiltrate the leader's group to plot a coup under the influence of the leader.

- There is no record in the legends of these undead having been suborned by anyone (including by the necromancer leader themself).

- These are not groups that have changed leaders at any point. The leader in question is the original founder of the group.

- None of these plots have resulted in actual coups.

- The undead involved continue to be loyal members of the group afterward.

- This happens whether or not there are any other members of the group (living, dead, or undead), whether or not any wars have happened, and whether or not any other sites have been conquered.

Not every intelligent undead raised by a necromancer tower leader has done this. I don't see a pattern determining which ones do and which ones don't.
Generate a world where a necromancer has founded a tower and raised intelligent undead. Browse legends.

Hashtag not all intelligent undead.

For a particularly clear example (with almost no intervening events involving that necromancer, intelligent undead, or group), see Eshtan Perplexedlabor raised by Vabok Inkelbow in region2:

Vabok founds group
Vabok raises Eshtan from the dead as a faded butcher
Vabok's group constructs tower, and Vabok and Eshtan settle there
Vabok writes book
Eshtan plots to infiltrate Vabok's group in order to prepare a coup under the influence of Vabok
