0001434: Crash for no apparent reason with save
Save - http://static.dollchan.ru/misc/region5.1058.spr.tar.bz2 [^]
Note: Quite a resource intensive map!

--
When i designate weapon traps to be done, it sometimes crashes upon assigning the job to dwarf.
Most likely it is caused by inaccessible weapons (in cages with goblins, for example), but I'm not sure.
Unpause the game - within 1-2 in game days, the game should crash.

A crashing save would be very helpful. You can upload to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^]

Here's the save, http://static.dollchan.ru/misc/region2.tar.bz2 [^]
However,
1. It is NOT related to weapon traps. Turns out, those were just a coincidence, now it reliably crashes even without them.
2. I tried to get as close to crash as possible. Crashes in about 50 seconds at 20 fps speed here.

Cool, thanks for uploading. I'll retitle the thread.

I didn't experience any crashes before spring arrived. Does the crash occur after that point, RusAnon?

(Also, that is one memory intensive map!)

I didn't do anything, but I got to spring without a crash as well.

(Also, what's with all the stairs?)

I wonder if this one's Wine-specific (as reported for a non-crash bug at 0000219:0000726). Might be good if another Wine user checked whether they get a crash with this save.

I'll try to run it on windows myself and see if it works.
It crashes here before next season.

Any updates, RusAnon? (Or was that 'It crashes here before next season' after testing it on Windows?)

Just tried it on windows.
1. It did crash, in same timeframe as on linux (1-2 in-game days).
2. Just noticed, it is 14th granite, early spring in the save (so obviously it is after spring arrived). I'll re-check, maybe i uploaded wrong save instance.

Duh, its wrong save indeed. Git archived some old commit instead of head, sorry.
Here's correct one, it should be 14th granite 1058.
Crashes at 15th-16th granite.

I'm getting the crash here, too. Doesn't appear to be military or melt related, so it's something new.

I'm going to update the description to include the proper save file.

Hmmm, this MAY be actually same as 0002299, since i changed bodyparts of some creatures after worldgen (added SHELL to mountain goats and modified elves).
But changing raws to original did not help.

Dwarfu
2011-11-10 21:49
Removed shell references from the mountain goats (creature_large_mountain);
Removed milk & cheese and pet tag from elves (creature_standard);
Changed dwarf child back to 12 (creature_standard).

It is probably some combination of those. There are already elves and mountain goats generated on the map, so Toady would have to look at which flags they are missing.

Getting a BEX error in 31.12.

Loaded it into 31.25 to see if any changes fixed the problem.
errorlog.txt:
Unit has misaligned bp modifiers. Adjusting.
So it looks like the original user-induced raw-edit crash was fixed.

Time will progress a bit further but then we get an APPCrash, which is probably related to another bug - like the fact that there is 4 mayors with active mandates or the arsenal dwarf (I removed him from office).

Since the original reported crash was fixed, I'm resolving this as a duplicate of 0002299.

I will add a relation to 0003140 and cross-post the save there.
