This is true for all traps. I'm not sure if its new behavior or not.

Footkerchief he means if you are viewing a constructed trap building with the {q} 'Set building tasks/prefs', like a cage trap or a weapon trap or a stone fall trap, it doesn't have any name at all on the display on the right, its just blank. Whereas all other buildings tell you what they are. There's no functional problem, you can still edit the trap correctly (the only option traps have is to {x} remove building). It's just a display problem, and a pretty minor one at that.

The vermin trap thing you made it a child of is talking more about how cages with tame vermin in them don't call themselves "Fluffy Wambler Cage (Pine)" like animal cages do. That's not new, elves have been bring vermin in cages forever, and vermin in cages have never showed up in the name.

I'm less sure if this bug is from 40d or not, I just can't remember.

It must qualify as a bug, and the fact that stockpiles sometimes do it as well simply expands the scope of the problem. Normally, cage traps display a name. All traps do. Any unnamed building would be a bug, whether they had always been that way (which they haven't) or not.

I now have witnessed them displaying a name when viewed in t-mode (Cage Trap in light green). So this is confirmed to be an oversight or bug, whichever you prefer.

I've gone back in case of human error, and confirmed that in .28, all traps displayed names in {q} mode. So did stockpiles.

Can confirm still present in 0.40.23

No name for cage trap or bridge, but have name for lever.

Not getting this in 44.03 -- tried a stone stockpile and a cage trap with 'q'. Are there still forms of the bug or should it be resolved?

Neither am I. I can get it to occur in 0.40.24 but not in 0.42.05, so I'll assume it was fixed in 0.42.01.
