0001820: Dwarfs and Pets randomly bleed to death
In my three most recent forts dwarfs, mostly miners and woodcutters, and their entourage of pets, babys, haulers and the like, startet at one point to be affected by an epidemy of severe bleeding from an unkown source. Non of them where involved in combat before, no cave-ins either and neither of them managed to get back to saftey or the apointed and well equiped (minus soap) hospital.

On reload this behaviour sometimes repeats itself, sometimes doesn't.
Channeling out moats around your fort with 10+ unskilled to legendary miners sometimes reproduces this behaviour for me.

Was it raining at the time? if so, it sounds like a known bug - acid rain. The temp is so high it melts dwarves skin off and since there's nothing left to hold blood in their bodies, out it comes. It's also possible a forgotten beast can cause this effect. Check around the map for smears, they will give you (and us) a clue if you find any.

The melted skin is entirly possible as the dwarfes sometimes got wet by channeling the moat and then walking through water. Thanks.

Ok, so you know what caused the bleeding to death. Now it's my unfortunate duty to mark this as a duplicate of 0000190 - essentially, the giant compendium of water/heat related troubles in the current version.

However, rest easily - this will be fixed in version 31.04 (hopefully)!
