0002255: Quest tasks remain even after quest giver is killed
If you receive a quest to kill a particular creature and the questgiver is subsequently killed (for example, if a town's warlord asks you to kill their demonic lawgiver, then goes hostile once you actually do), the quest will remain in your Tasks list for the rest of eternity, as it is entirely impossible to report the death of a creature to somebody who is dead.
Talk to a warlord, get a quest, then attack and kill the warlord. In the [Q] screen, the tasks list continues to list the quest you got, and if you go kill the listed creature, it will change to "Report Death of [creature]" even though this is impossible.
This behavior has likely been present ever since quests were implemented in Adventurer mode to begin with. It's particularly annoying, since it

This doesn't seem to be an issue anymore, now that you can report your successes to anyone as opposed to only the person who gave you the quest.
