0002773: Dwarf's job switches from "Rest" to "No Job" when undergoing surgery
One of my dwarves requires surgery on his left elbow, left lower arm, and lower spine. When transported from his bed in the hospital to a table, however, he switches from "rest" to "no job." The surgeon then cancels the job because the patient isn't resting.

As per 0000318:0008034, you should try deconstructing and reconstructing every single table in your fortress. Does that fix the problem?

...I'll let you know?

Yeah, it's kind of irritating, but if your save is from before 31.07, the table buildings have residual buggy information that can only be cleared by deconstructing them.

This could be related to http://bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=1077 [^] . Which I have gotten with 0.31.10 (game started that version too). It seems like dwarves have resting as a "low priority" task and it interrupts the surgeon and prevents him from finishing surgery.

If it's not an old save that gets fixed by messing with the tables, then it sounds like http://bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=2709 [^] doesn't just apply to traction.

0.31.12 fortress. As soon as the doctor moves the patient for surgery, the patient stops resting and the surgery is cancelled. The solution here has to be to keep the "rest" job active while being moved to the hospital table.

The workaround right now is to remove the tables from the hospital zone and have the surgery done right in the bed, which is what I've done to save the injured dwarf.

Edit: The same dwarf I had to perform surgery on in bed managed to continue resting over to the traction table a little later. Seems to be directly related to the surgery task.

This seems to only affect surgery. Dwarves that need suturing, wound dressing and such work fine. However if the dwarf needs surgery at the top of _ANY_ wound he doesn't actually rest at all.

So I've got multiple dwarves with compound fractures who just refuse to rest and act as if they were normal. I'm assuming this is because they are legendary soldiers.

According to Latias1290, this no longer occurs (http://dwarffortresswiki.org/index.php?title=DF2014:Health_care&curid=31376&diff=210160&oldid=209735 [^]). Has anyone been able to reproduce this in 0.40.xx?

All right, I'll mark this as resolved. If anyone can reproduce this in 0.40.xx, please PM me or another manager on the forums to reopen this report.
