0003583: Ramps without adjacent wall tiles will not allow pathing onto bridge
New fort, was only able to make wood items or charcoal out of the initial pieces of wood I brought (from points and from the wagon).

Doesn't seem to happen in every world. Have uploaded a save:

Megaupload won't let me download your file. In general, http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] is a better place to upload saves.

Your wood pile is outside.
But there are unsupported ramps as the only access to your bridge. If you notice, none of your dwarves are using that pathway. Building a ramp next to the natural stone walls allows access and stops the cancellations. To rectify fully, you need to build a wall to the west of the ramps (under the last tiles of the bridge).

Closest related report seems to be 0001514.

Bridges don't act as support for ramps? That seems like plausible expected behavior.
