Summary0004110: Pets and trained animals that die of old age are not buried
DescriptionPets and trained animals that die of old age are not buried, or even placed in the corpses stockpile. Instead animals dead of old age go to the rubbish stockpile.
Steps To Reproduce19 year old fort, each spring a few animals die of old age, unable to get them properly buried

Do the pets have living masters, or are they "unowned" pets?

This is probably an old bug:
# 000833 □ [dwarf mode][jobs][burial] (http://www.bay12games.com/forum/index.php?topic=7579.0 [^]) the bodies of tame animals that weren't pets can't be buried or butchered, including work dogs

But uploading a save to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] might still be helpful.
