0004850: Injured Dwarves who are unable to stand are not recovered unless unconscious
I found many similar bug reports, but they were either slightly different or listed as resolved.
In my fort, I have a lot of experience with "unable to stand" injuries because of a FB extract that has never gone away, years later. It basically just badly blisters the feet, and sometimes the eyes, so the dwarf cannot stand ever again. Invariably, when a dwarf catches this, they lose the ability to stand, and just sit there until they pass out, THEN they are taken to the hospital. Other dwarves injured in battle or cave-ins and the like are all recovered promptly, but a dwarf who just injures his feet and can't stand, is ignored until he passes out. If, unfortunately, they are more thirsty than tired, they sometimes die of thirst before passing out to be taken to the hospital. One dwarf is very unlucky as he got stricken just as he got to his bed, so he can sleep when he gets tired, ensuring his demise as he will never be recovered.
1) Have a dwarf injured just in the feet such that he cannot stand.
2) Dwarf gets "needs diagnosis" note, but is not recovered unless unconscious.

Possibly related, an injured, unable to stand dwarf who has not been recovered won't eat or drink, even if food is stockpiled under them or they happen to have a full flask/waterskin with them. 0004873

Also, it seems additional injuries don't make a difference. As long as the as-yet untreated injuries involve the inability to stand, the dwarf will not be recovered unless they fall asleep.

Here's another save that might also be related

still present in v34.10
can also be linked to spinal injuries, some of which give an 'ability to stand lost/impaired' tag too

i'm guessing the fact they're conscious means other dwarves believe they can get to the hospital under their own steam (as a dwarf who's cut his hand open would, for example), and so no 'recover wounded' job is generated.

okay, finally managed to get onto DFFD and upload a file.
this one has 5 people right at the bottom of the screen on 'ground level' (not sure what Z-level, but it's the one before the sky starts, not at the bottom of the whole map.. lol) with various leg injuries giving them the 'ability to stand lost/impaired' tag, 2 of whom get swept up straight away (their 'recover wounded' jobs were already generated when i noticed the 5 injured parties, and saved). the other 3's 'rescues' vary wildly on each play-through - some get fed, some get watered, some get swept up straight away, some sit there for a season or two.

note there are several dwarves with 'no job', milling around in the meeting hall, all (minus the farmers) with 'recover wounded' ON.

i tried to discover myself why they werent being recovered sooner; if they were tied to other jobs (like being fed/watered, etc), if there were no hospital beds, no haulers, whatever. but the only thing i could come up with was they werent unconscious (or didnt fall unconscious for a second so the job could be generated), as even when they did eventually get carried away, they were still conscious, with 'no job' set.. strange!
