Summary0000523: Dwarf drops sword in order to pick up another
DescriptionOne of my dwarves had just started training in the barracks (designated from an armour stand). He had a training sword and was using it to do an individual combat drill, then he just dropped it and got the "pickup equipment" job. He ran off, got another training sword of a different wood but identical quality, then carried on training.
Steps To ReproduceGet a dwarf training using a training sword. Have multiple spare swords. Wait.

I often have training dwarfs interrupt their training to switch one of their inventory items, fetching a newly-created item with the same quality (and I believe value) as what they were wearing. This happens without the dwarf having any relevant preferences.

Sometimes this will trigger a cascade of three or four dwarfs switching gloves at once.

I think I shall have to nickname two dwarves "Didi" and "Gogo" and force them to switch boots and hats simultaneously in this manner.

Is this happening after an arsenal dwarf is present/active? Perhaps their assigned list of items got updated recently and they're swapping to the "new" set of equipment per the new list.

No arsenal dwarf present. This is only in year 2 so as far as I know the dwarves are meant to organise themselves. There is no option for assigning anyone to be arsenal dwarf in the nobles screen yet.
