0007816: Dwarven merchants won't pack up
An announcement that the merchants have embarked on their journey appears, but they never start packing their stuff or leaving. They arrived without wagons and a group of merchants has been hanging out around the trade depot for over a year (there are currently two stuck caravans), so I doubt it has anything to do with the quantity of goods. Deconstructing the depot causes them all to immediately dart off the map, so it doesn't look like a pathfinding issue either.

(I checked all the other merchant-related reports and didn't find any that were exactly the same; I apologise if this turns out to be a duplicate after all.)

I retired and unretired the fortress to try and get rid of the first group - the merchants and animals were listed as friendly afterwards and turned back into merchants when the next caravan arrived, but the caravan guards and outpost liaison are now "hostile" (they act exactly like friendly units) and it doesn't look like they'll ever leave. The second caravan arrived without a liaison.

Also, one of the merchants (Iden Osiralath) jumped into a deep pit with water at the bottom and sat there for several in-game weeks without starting to drown before being scared by something and running out. The same pit killed any of the fortress dwarves that fell into it in no time at all.
