Description | I was looking for some roasts to trade to the dwarven caravan, and found one just lying in my stockpile, not in a barrel. It wasn't in a barrel because it is a stack of 81 nautilus roasts. That seemed like a lot for a single stack, so I looked further, and found that it is made out of 12 different items instead of the usual 4.
It sounds like the culinary equivalent of planepacked, but much more useful - perhaps because of the number of ingredients contributes to value (?), each individual roast is worth 404 dwarfbucks. And each item is still individually saleable (or edible). On the down side, the stack does appear to be fairly heavy!
The ingredients are bat ray, salmon, 8 different stacks of quarry bush leaves, rye flour, and nautilus.
Sadly I did not catch the cook in the act of creating this marvel. I only have one burrow, which covers all the safe inner zone of the fortress, including the kitchen and food stockpiles. I did limit everyone to that burrow when a minotaur came to call, so it is possible that the cook was trying to use a fish that had been left lying outside or something?
