Summary | 0004254: Dwarf with mood sulks in his bedroom instead of creating artifact
Description | Had a dwarf develop a mood (Iden Ducimtoral in attached [I hope] save file), but instead of claiming a workshop, just sulked in bed. Not sure if it is because he was sleeping at the time or because the workshop was not built yet (he's looking to make some glass, I think). Building the workshop didn't help. He sulked for a while, then his happiness went to zero.
Steps To Reproduce | either 1) Develop a mood while sleeping or 2) Develop a mood for which there is no existing workshop or both
Additional Information | I'll attach the save file if I can, otherwise email me and I'll provide it to you...

If a moody dwarf doesn't claim a workshop, it's because you don't have it or the dwarf cannot path to it. If you think you've built every workshop and that they're all accessible, then check again - either the workshop your dwarf wants is locked away, or it hasn't actually been built. Some dwarves are picky about regular workshops versus magma workshops, so make sure you have one of each. |

Reminder sent to: GrimerX If Quietust's explanation of not having all possible workshops or a potential pathing problem (locked door, etc.), then you can upload a save to http://dffd.wimbli.com [^] and post a link to it in your bug report. |

Remember glass workers require a non-magma glass furnace for now. |

Thanks guys, that likely explains it. I have only magma glass furnaces, good to know. I tried to prove it, but unfortunately my last save doesn't have long enough before the mood timer runs out to test it. But the explanation makes sense so I'll go with that. |

If time is limited, you can temporarily add [SPEED:1] to the DWARF entry in data/save/regionX/raw/objects/creature_standard.txt - that'll give your architect and mason plenty of time to construct the regular glass furnace to verify that it's what your dwarf wanted. |

If you're feeling really ambitious, add [SPEED:0]. It's almost twice as fast as [SPEED:1]. |

GrimerX, when you have confirmation on the glass furnace thing, make sure to report back here. That one has already been fixed in the next version, see 0000285, so we can group them together if it turns out they're the same! |

Reminder sent to: GrimerX Did you find that the mood required a workshop you didn't have (as in a magma glass furnace or a standard glass furnace)? |

Sorry for the delay -- updated my prefs to email when notes are added now :-) SPEED:0 did it (*whew*), thanks Quietust and ZChris13. Confirmed that building a regular glass furnace addressed it in 31.21, and moving the savegame to 31.22 addressed it as well (by routing to magma glass furnace) Thanks everyone! PS I don't see where I can close this issue, so if I'm supposed to do that please let me know how. |

Nah, all you need to do is let us know that it's resolved (and maybe attach the "CLOSE THIS" tag, but generally we'll notice regardless). Thanks! |
