0006465: Too many combat messages at once freeze the game

Description

Let me rephrase that: The game doesn't freeze; the controls do. I can't move at all, nor can I access any menus excluding the pause screen, but I can still quit and save the game. Restarting the game usually doesn't have any effect. Occasionally I can move a space after restarting, but then combat message overload strikes again and it freezes.

Steps To Reproduce

Go to an area where there are several enemies onscreen at once.
Wait until they all go into attack mode.
FREEZE!

(0024684) Footkerchief (manager) 2014-04-12 06:24	Every creature in the game, including the player, takes their turns in a certain order. If there are lots of creatures fighting, or if you perform an action that takes a long time (such as shooting a ranged projectile), a lot will happen before it's your turn again.
