Summary | 0010567: Loading a save crashes at "Loading tracking information"
Description | I saved a fortress mode world and exited the game like any normal exit. My computer crashed shortly after (30-60 seconds). After restarting I reboot my world to get this crash. Completely vanilla DF.
Additional Information | Other saves load fine. Before exiting I was able to go into the [d]esignations menu and select area to mine, but no highlighted area showed up to show what would be mined.

There's a fair chance that your computer crash corrupted the DF save. Ideally DF wouldn't crash when loading a corrupted save, but gracefully handling corrupt storage is rarely worth the effort for non-critical applications. In any case, there's likely little DF can do to recover a save subject to external corruption. |

The same issue is happening on an entirely different save, this time there was no crash or anything out of normal function. I saved game, tried to reload, and same crash issue. is a save upload needed? Edit: a restart fixed the issue and no longer crashes (non uploaded save) a memory issue could be the cause? |

Fair enough. Uploading a save to DFFD certainly wouldn't hurt. You might try disabling COMPRESSED_SAVES in init.txt; there have been reports of it causing save corruption (0002017). |
