Do you have a save that reproduces the problem? If so, it would be helpful to upload it to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^]

Ideally, the save would have the dig designation already placed, so that Toady won't have to do extra work to observe the crash.

Well, I don't have that specific save anymore BUT my new one does the same crash again with a new area. For me at around 100 - 150 fps it happens about 1 - 2 minutes in. The area is already zoomed.

I haven't edited anything, this is vanilla except for the init.txt which I've edited - not copied over. (SDL version)
Oh and I've made it so damp stones don't pause my game anymore..but thats about it

Huh... I didn't get a crash, or the pathfinding failures in the errorlog, but the game did seem to hang.

Hmm, that's odd...The pathfinding failures were there though. It seems to happen in most places I mine out, I've had to start a new fortress.

Maybe due to the lack of sleep(not an excuse :P) I mistook hanging for crashing as everytime it happened I just spammed enter to get it down, I've tried leaving it but it did not go away. Did yours come back after a period of time?

I left it running for about 20 minutes with no luck. I might try leaving it running overnight.

Alright, if you want I can do that. It's very odd since it happens when my dwarves start digging certain parts. I had to move my area down a bit and it still happened.

Loaded this in 31.18.

I'm not getting any pathfinding errors (these were probably related to dwarfs trying to get stuff from the wagon but the waves destroyed it, causing cancellations). Did not get any mining errors either.

The hang is from the sea freezing.

It freezes around the 15th. It seems to be a flash freeze as by the 17th it is liquid again. Not sure exactly which date it thaws because I just left it running in the hung state and noticed that it was going again about 10 minutes later.

Is it happening without this hack?

Kogut that's not a hack, that's a changeable setting now in announcements.txt. It shouldn't have any impact on gameplay stability.

If anyone has a save that reproduces this problem in the latest version, please upload it to http://dffd.wimbli.com/ [^] and reopen this report (or PM a manager on the forums).
