Summary0002407: Dwarves don't haul metal ore to stockpile anymore
DescriptionI set a stockpile to receive Stones/Metal/All

It worked when I initially built this fortress, but now that I reclaimed it (and built the same stockpile again), dwarves don't haul copper nuggets and hematite to this stockpile.

Here is a link to the savegame: http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=2557 [^]

The stockpile is right beside the magma smelters.

For the sake of reporting, I would like to add that the metal that isn´t being hauled is NEW (i.e., was not available by the time I reclaimed). In other words, I reclaimed -> built a new stockpile -> mined some walls -> found some new ore -> ore stay there.

Curiously, it seems to affect only cooper nuggets and hematite so far, since other metal ores were hauled normally.

Oh, hmm... might be a new manifestation of 0001173, I guess.

I dunno... In the report you mentioned, nothing seemed to be hauled because apparently the game could not create more "dump item" jobs.

In this case however, hauling works normally with food, furniture etc. The game seems to be assigning new "haul orders" normaly. The problem is that for some reason those metals are being ignored for stockpiling.

One thing worth mentioning is that when I order some copper smelted, the smelter can actually bring ore to the smelter, so I suppose the ore isn´t "locked", it is just being ignored for the stockpile.

Yeah, I didn't mean 0001173 itself so much as related bugs like 0001519, which sounds very much like this bug. I guess you could try forbidding everything in your fortress except for the ore, and see if they'll haul it then.

Reminder sent to: Jh00

Any updates? Can you rule out 0001519 as the cause of this bug?

I will have another look and will post my findings here.

I will have another look and will post my findings here.

EDIT: I followed your advice and forbid everything I found but the ores. After further testing, I realized that the problem was in fact the Orders set to "Refuse Minerals", which I didn´t know existed, but I may have activated it by mistake ("o" "s") while trying to cancel squad orders ("s" "o"). This explains why the Smelter was gathering hematite and copper nuggets even though the stockpile wasn´t being filled with metal ore.

Since that I originally reported that "other ores were being hauled", I created other stockpiles and mined for more ore and observed that everything were being hauled correctly after I turned "Refuse Minerals" off. I think I got the impression that other metals were being hauled probably by seeing rocks that has the same tile as metal ore being hauled.

So, I shamefully ask that this "bug" be closed as "resolved". Sorry for the misleading report.

The 'o'rders menu strikes again!

Don't worry about being shameful, you'd be surprised how often the orders menu trips people up.

No problem, thanks for investigating.
