Likely the same behavior seen in 0.28.181.40d.

I had this happen, and they are only somewhat friendly. They'll happily attack and kill the outpost liaison when he arrives..

Wow! I have this bug, and when I get attacked by goblins, my friendly goblins fight the unfriendly goblins! Amazing! This actually bought me some time to build military :)

EDIT: This then made them fight each other.

I don't know if this is part of this issue, or a separate one. One of the friendly goblins continually triggers the message "Goblin McGoblin has bestowed the name <different random name> on a jaguar leather cloak!" which automatically pauses the game the same way a created artifact does.

That's bug 0000667, "The_Law".

This is a fun bug - I abandoned and reclaimed because I had 2 dwarves left and no immigrants over several seasons, and then an invincible Forgotten Beast turned up... Whereupon the friendly goblins managed to kill it on reclaim.

They don't seem to attack wild animals though.

I imagine this is fairly simple to recreate and so saves aren't necessary.

This may or may not have gone away in between, but it consistently happens in the new 0.34.02. It may have to do with reclaim only inasmuch as other civs' units are left when abandoning, and then bug 0005249 causes these to become friendly because they're at your fort when you begin in the reclaim. Or the two may not be related except by coincidence, I don't know. What I do know is this save I have uploaded to DFFD demonstrating it, not merely in end result but allowing you to abandon and reclaim and watch the process if you have sufficient knowledge of DF's inner workings (as, for example, the Toady One does...). http://dffd.wimbli.com/file.php?id=5618 [^]

what I just noticed here is occasionally a raid comes and they all go hostile (often inside the fort!)
presumably when the invaders are from the same civ or fortress?

I had this happen to a fort yesterday, running 34.11. It's been a couple years of game time and I still have 60-odd friendly goblins, trolls and voracious cave crawlers wandering around. A few have died attacking goblin ambushers. I haven't had a siege yet since reclaiming. They haven't turned hostile so far.

Edit: As soon as a proper siege showed up, the goblins turned hostile. Since they were scattered all over my fort, my careful plan to keep intruders out did not stop them from wiping the floor with my dwarves. I ordered everyone out of the fort to force the goblins to run the trap gauntlet in reverse, but they appear to just wander, directionless, if no enemies are in line of sight. There are still 17 of them there when I re-reclaim.

This also seems to occur with thieves and snatchers.
