Summary | 0006503: Minotaur strangles dwarf under water during three months and counting
Description | A Minotaur attacked my fortress and started beating one of my dwarves. Then, both of them fell into the river and the Minotaur continued to strangle her under water. I waited, expecting one of them to die but none did. The Minotaur started to strangle the dwarf under water at 28th Granite. As I write these lines, it's still strangling her at 22nd Hematite. That's almost three months. I'm not sure about the dwarf. She might be a vampire, which is why she hasn't drowned yet, but that doesn't explain why the Minotaur hasn't drowned either. At both tiles where Minotaur and dwarf are, it's "Water [7/7]", so it's not like there is space to breath. I'm going to leave the link to download the save file here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1j7iuY4gu9ZbnZCV3pveWsxMkU/edit?usp=sharing [^] Simply press "u" and look for the Minotaur in the "Others" section, once you load the map.
Steps To Reproduce | I'm not sure how to reproduce it once again. I suppose you could try to make a Minotaur chase a Dwarf near a River, expecting them to fall into it. However, I don't know if the Minotaur would proceed to strangle or beat him once they're there.
Additional Information | Once again, here's the link to the save file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1j7iuY4gu9ZbnZCV3pveWsxMkU/edit?usp=sharing [^] Simply press "u" and look for the Minotaur in the "Others" section, once you load the map.

Duplicate of bug 1403? Related to bug 449? I can confirm from testing the save that killing the minotaur (ending the strangle) leads to the dwarf near-instantly dying. Also, the minotaur is swimming and therefore can breathe from the surface. Only the dwarf is actually dying. EDIT: it looks like the part of the code which increments the air loss counter/data does not run for the dwarf while the dwarf is being strangled. Even removed from the water, the dwarf has a broken upper spine and will eventually suffocate when separated from the wrestling minotaur. |

Thanks for the info, UristDaVinci. I'm crossposting it at 0000449. |
